Button Head Locator(BHL) Overview

Back to E-Drill Academy

Thanks for joining our new, comprehensive, E-drill Training and Maintenance Course. In this section, we will go through the E-drill Button Head Locators(BHL), the parts they consist of, and how they work in practice. Button Head Locators use a bushing that matches the diameter of the fastener head being worked on. This will mechanically lock onto the center of the fastener and keep the E-drill centered for easy and damage-free fastener removal.

As mentioned in the video, you can either have a machinist reem the bushing to roughly .002″ larger than the OD of the fastener head, or you can reach out to our sales team and we will custom make a bushing based off the fastener drawings.

As always, when actually removing the fastener consult the five-step guide on the lid of your tool-cart and the Fastener Specific Removal Instruction Booklet that was sent to you in your maintenance kit.
